With the 2014 racing season in the books it's time for myself and Six Star Cars to do what we do best, make cars stronger, faster, and more reliable. We celebrated our 5th year in business doing Subaru only yesterday, and our 10th year at the same location!
We all know that the 5MT isn't the strongest nor most reliable gearbox but it can be made much better.
If you want to upgrade, RA gears are substantially stronger (and don't be fooled by the other company who imports RA gears and then polishes them, the polishing process removes .002-.003" worth of material which may not sound like much but gear mesh tolerance is very important in a high horsepower application) we use only GENUINE SUBARU TYPE RA gear sets.
We have several 5 speed transmissions ready to sell, currently set up for WRX or FXT but if you are looking for something else let me know.
All of the transmissions have been fully gone through, every seal has been replaced along with the 1st gear syncro.
Prices are for local pickup with useable core exchange (add $200 if you want to keep your 5MT). Freight is $100-250 depending on where it's headed.
Stock 02-05 transmission $1300
Stock 4.44 fxt transmission $1400
02-05 transmissions with RA 1st and 2nd for $1800
02-05 transmissions with RA1st-4th and a.738 ratio 5th (better for the hwy) for $2100
or I can swap out the final drive to 4.44 for an additional $500.
06-07 add $200
We can also install any LSD/TBD differentials made for the 5MT. We prefer to use Quaife or Modena but for the short term I'm willing to work with customers to install some of the more inexpensive options out there.
We also offer axle/half shaft/CV building. Send us all 4 axles with the FFR middles, we send you back two 818 axles, cleaned, built and ready for install for $150.
One last thing, if you would like to have us modify the transmission for you also that's easy just include the sleeve, rear cover of your choice (FFR or ZDM) and bolts and we will install those at no extra charge.
