I have a question for you fine folks regarding axles.

I have a 2006 WRX transmission, and have FFR axle shafts made for a 2002-2004 WRX. Is there a difference in the spline count between any of the 2002-2007 axles? I know the late 90's had 2 or 3 less splines than the 2002-2004 does, and I'm worried that buying 2006 male axles won't fit my FFR shafts.

Any insight?

I remember I just had to play "CV Roulette". I was so frustrated with the CV process I didn't even right numbers down.. I probably bought 6 different NAPA axles, and not one worked. I then just bought a Subaru axle and it finally worked.

Short Answer, I think they will work fine. Its when you start adding a TSB or LSD diff when it gets really tricky.

Chad,

Thanks for the reply. What is a TSB?

I was worried that was the case....here we go with an exciting round of guess-and-check, CV style!

Frank, give Anderwtech a call, they might know

I think Chad meant TBD (torque biasing differential). TSB = Torque Sensing Bias (differential)?

Yep- No coffee yet

Gave FFR a call. They said that 02-07 WRX have the same spline count for the transmission CV joint. I will confirm this when I buy new axle ends (my junkyarding experience was not fruitful in these regards) and attempt to pop them on my FFR axles.

Thanks for the clarification, Rasmus. I know that feeling, Chad!
