Help - heater core lines

I have a 2002 WRX 2.5 turbo. I am not confident which lines lead to my heater core because my connections do not appear as they do in the manual. One appears where I would expect to find it and the other line comes out under the intercooler. Since I am new to Subie's and it has been a while since I took the donor apart, I am hoping that someone can confirm this for me.

And it it is the heater core line, I am guessing I am going to have to find a work around because the U-shaped hose is definitely not going to work. Photo below:

Yes, those are the 2 lines to connect.

I took the ffr supplied hose to the parts store to find a replacement as mine is oriented the same as yours. The hose is a touch over 1/2 inch and a straight hose around 16 inches long will work without collapsing.

If your car is a 2002 the engine is a 2.0 liter.
