I will be installing an aftermarket steering wheel and hub on my 818S. Anyone have suggestions as to size, type, etc? Connecticut requires a minimum of 13 inch diameter. Can I get away with 320 mm (slightly less than 13 inch but much more available than larger sizes)? What combination of wheel and hub/quick release will give me about the same distance of wheel to driver? Do I need a quick release?

Look through this steering section and you'll find several options. You'll want to think through the horn button, the turn signals, cruise control switch and the wiper stalk, if you want to keep any of them. Here's one thread that has links to others:

I'm using a 350mm steering wheel (Momo mod.08) and it works fine. A little bit smaller would be better imo as it sits a little low in my lap. If you use the standard fuel tank/seat position, I wouldn't get a wheel with a dish (which I did unintentionally). My steering wheel has a 90mm dish and I couldn't use the standard Momo hub because the steering wheel was way too close to the driver's seat. I switched to the NRG short hub which is much better, but I can't properly mount the horn from the Momo steering wheel because the steering wheel sits so close to the steering column nut/bolt. I don't think a quick release is needed, but it may make it a little easier to get in and out.
