I know i read about this somewhere but when it comes time to do it i cant seem to locate the info. i want to set up my clutch line so when i pull my motor i can just disconnect the flex line from the top of the motor(clutch cyl), roll it up and pull the motor. does anyone have any pics of this that shows where they located the end of the hardline? my stock 2006 wrx flexline is about 16" long. what length have people used to do this. thanks for the help.

Doug.

Mount it to the frame instead of running it through the motor. That way you can just remove the slave from the transmission. No need to bleed the system.

Here's what I did with a 24 inch line:

Where did you get that line?

I used the donor clutch hose by running a hard line to the 3/4" frame tube above the engine, mounting the OE fitting and then the OE line goes to the slave cylinder. Like others, I'll just unbolt the slave cylinder and lay it back to pull the engine.

+2, I did that on my car and the GRM car. I used a Longacre hose fitting to go from the 3/16 hard line to -3 AN, then get a 24" -3 to 10mm banjo fitting brake hose.

A rubber rear brake line with out the locating tab works great too.

www.replicaparts.com has the whole setup in a kit to do this.

Yup. I replaced all of those for my brake lines and added the one for the clutch. I didn't even look at what came on the WRX because they were so crusty that I didn't even consider using them. I also didn't want any adapters in my braking system.

Also, I should have bought all new tabs because the supplied ones are thinner than standard. I believe they are that way to fit better on the WRX line ends. Aftermarket ends and clips are a bit loose with the kit tabs.
