Hi guys, during my cleaning and re bushing the rear knuckles I ordered group N bushings.
Now to install the trailing arm rear bushing that is in the knuckle, the problem is the bushing O.D. Is bigger than the I.D. Of the knuckle.
I found in the Nasioc website there is a special tool that is tapered and the bushing is pulled through the tapered tube and into position. BUT there is nobody fessing up to locate the tool. It was custom machined over ten years ago just for this purpose.
What are you guys doing for this bushing? The dealership seems to have trashed my bushing and are now ordering more! Thanks Don

There is a pretty detailed explanation in the factory service manual. It requires special tool 927730000: https://subaru.service-solutions.com/Search.aspx?type=1&search=927730000

I used two piece bushings from turn in concepts, factory style bushings are pretty tricky without the right tools.

Here's the update from the dealership. Both sti type bushings are installed. They trashed One learning how the taper tool works, ordered another one and installed. Time at the dealer ship was 7 hours labor to learn how to do it and one $24.00 bushing. Total bill was 114.00 since they originally quoted me one hour for labor and I supplied the bushings, moral to the story, get a quote hold them to it!
That it. Don
