Clutch reservoir presses on cross bar

When installing the clutch cylinder of my 03 2.5 TS Wagon NA, the cap presses on the cross bar. I have to slightly pull it away in order to remove the cap. I have no play on the pedal box and pedal mount.

Has anyone experienced that problem too?

I seem to have a different reservoir than most of those I've seen, what's wrong with my installation?

Mine is from a WRX, and it is not close to touching. It seems yours is much taller.

I'll check on your thread for a pic if you have one.
I will send out my pic to FFR, maybe they are aware of this and know what to do, or worst case not aware and I'm stuck with that. I am not sure I can get my plates with that, as normally if there are parts touching that should not I don't think I can pass. Grey zone here. Maybe I'll do a Mike-Everson-brake-reservoir-relocation-like mod. But 1st, let's see what FFR thinks.

Frank, you are not alone. I remember someone else had that problem but now I can't find that thread, and I don't remember the solution. I'm a fan of Mike Everson's remote reservoir which may be your best way out.

I believe I'll have to design a remote reservoir, yes. Or get another brake remote reservoir from Mike and adapt it for the clutch. The advantage of this solution is I can virtually locate the reservoir anywhere.

Or you can buy a WRX clutch master from ebay like I did- $45.

Edit- That is not "My" picture- It was one I used as reference
