Hi All:
Does anyone have a good and reliable way to crimp the bands that secure the steering rack boots at the big ends? It looks like you need a special tool to pinch and fold the crimp section. Any success stories would be appreciated.
Thanks... Jeff

Buy the proper tool. I have the dual one shown here. Might be cheaper locally in a hardware store.

The auto parts stores keep them in the tool aisle.

Possible stupid question: is there a reason not to use regular stainless steel hose clamps like you would use on a radiator hose?

Same question goes for the axle boots

Regular stainless hose clamps work fine as do good quality tie wraps (electrical zip ties).
