Has anyone else been able to monitor your post intercooler intake air temperatures? I'm using an air-to-water system and my IATs are around 50-60 degrees above my system's water temperature. From what I've seen, most air-to-air intercoolers are able to cool the air charge within 10-20 degrees of ambient. This is a 3rd-4th gear run.

I started out with a components from Frozenboost.com, including:

Type 3 AWIC - 12"x12.25"x4.5" core
Bosch pump - 5 GPM
Type 118 Heat Exchanger - 26"x7"x2"
Water/Ice Box Reservoir

I've since upgraded to a Meziere 20 GPM pump and bled the entire system. However, I only saw an improvement of 3-4 degrees.

Aside from upgrading to a Garrett intercooler core or switching over to air-to-air, any suggestions? Anyone with an air-to-air setup in an 818 have any data?

Thanks!

How are you measuring your charge temps?

Intake air temp is being measured with a GM IAT sensor and the water temp is with a thermoresistor. Both are logged with my AiMSport MXL.

Jerome, put another air temp sensor ahead of the IC and compare pre and post IC temps. Way more useful data
