Hand brake cable clearance?

How much slack do we have to work with for mounting the hand brake? I want to mount it a few inches forward and a few inches lower, and I can't seem to find my cables. Time to clean the garage, but I would like to finish this console first. Thanks!

not much, it will depend on your routing as well.

You could get creative and extend them a bit pretty easily I would think with flat bar stock on the handle end. ex Anchor the end where you need to for proper operation, make a piece of stock to capture the cable end that makes up the distance to the original cable nests for each side.

Thanks dan, I guess I'll have to clean up and install the lines for mock up.
