That's the same transmission I bought for my 818, so I hope you're right. I'd seriously think about the engine, but shipping to the east coast would be ridiculous. Are you willing to part them?

It's an sti ra gearset. Which can be installed in almost any transmission.

Looks like the JDM 205 not a 207 just throwing that out there.

When did they make that website?
That engine was used from Oct 08 to Oct 09. Many of the cars were sold as 00. Went to coil on plug after that.
Is a V1 207 though. The EJ20K manifolds look totally different. As do the water crossover and power steering pumps.

This is a version 6 with the EJ207 motor and correct 5 speed to convert for the 818
Here is a good history. Its an Australian site but the info is still correct:
https://www.mrtperformance.com.au/resources/technical-documents/656-evolution-of-the-sti
What confuses most people is that the version is not referring to the motor but the revision of the car.
The key is that versions 1-4 came with a 5 speed BUT is the older case and is not the trans that works well being converted to mid engine.
Version 5/6 (this one is) has the correct transmission and unlike the USDM's 3.90 the JDM has the preferred 4.44 final drive.
Version 7 and later came with the 6 speed.

There are different version ej207s, as well as different versions for STIs. There are 3 distinct versions of the ej207, which are separate from which version STI the came on. This is a V1 ej207, which came in the V5/6 STI.
The V2 engines can be identified by their different PS pump, BPV return line, intake manifold, water crossover, coil on plug, etc.
V3 ej207s came in the late V8 (and what some call V9/there is technically no GD V9) cars. The main revisions to these engines are internal to the water jacket and oil blow through system. And they completely revised the heads.
To add a bit more confusion, depending on the model, they came with either phase 1 or 2 transmissions. And there are a few V7 non STI WRXs that came with this V1 casting block, with a different intake manifold and heads.
EJ207s are more often identified by their casting number than the version. Since it is the internals of the castings that most people who work on EJ207s care about.
But yes. What you have here, is an early EJ207.
GLWS, great engine.
What's the tranny number? Might be interested, if you would sell it separate. I already have too many EJ207s sitting around.
