View Full Version : Hanging the rear spindle

Referring to assembly manual page 121: hanging the spindle on the lower control arm and attaching the trailing arm to the spindle bushing - I had to really push and pull the components to get the bolts to line up. Could the welded frame mounting plates be a little off or something? Seems to me this should all be a perfect fit.

Some ideas,
Did you try adjusting the toe bolt to change the angle?
Did you compare both trailing arms to make sure they weren't bent?
Are you sure your trailing arms are not switched left/right?
are you using adjustable lateral links? if so did you set them to stock length?

Is the toe bolt the original "cam" bolt? I am not using that, as I have an adjustable rear lateral arm.

yes. so did you set it to the oem length? can you post some pics of what is not lining up?
did your front happen to come from a wagon?

No it is a sedan. I think the tightness stems from my change to all polyurethane bushings. Leaves much less give in the lower control arm.

I switched to all Whiteline bushings and Whiteline lateral links and while it was a pain to get everything lined up to bolt up, it all fit together fine
