Manual states "Bolt the top of the coil-over shock to the chassis using the 0.32” spacer on the front side of the shock, 0.43" spacer on the back"

Given the size of the shock top fitting and the 1.5" square tubing, this leaves a .11" gap for the shock to rattle around, as shown

2742527426

Given that front and rear shock mounts are the same dimensions, that the fronts have two 0.43" spacers and are snug, what am I missing here?

Does the rear suspension geometry demand movement at the top of the shock?

Thanks, all.

I had the same issue. I used a washer to fill the gap if I recall correctly. Since the shock has a ball joint, I felt it should be snug in there.

My mounts compressed ever so slightly when tightening the bolt IIRC.

Ditto here. I had to grind down some others to fit elsewher in the rear. Made me think i had em mixed up, but checked with calipers. Some are just off a bit.

Mine were overly tight fitting. Go figure...

Mine were 0.32 and 0.43, like it says under the picture on page 131. Gave me the big gap. Other spacers needed a few thou taken off. I'll be going to FFR on Wed, see the top, take pictures, pick up some back ordered stuff. I'll get a couple of spacers while I'm there. Hey, so long as I wasn't putting it together wrong or something. Thanks, guys.

You can't expect a welded part with powder coat to be that accurate. You may have to "adjust" in either direction. I made a couple smaller washers on a lathe and also face ground some by hand on a belt sander to take off a few thousanths. I was more concerned with the 1/2 dozen that had a hole that was too small! That was a PITA to resolve with a rat tail file...

What are your plans for Wednesday, perhaps I'll go down too. We met at last year's open house.

The build manual is labled wrong.... I switched them and it worked fine.
