I have seen this rear wheel bearing and I can't figure out what is the orange insert for? I don't recall having such a thing on mine.

It keeps the inner races, cages, and roller bearings from falling out of the outer race during shipping and installation. When removed the only thing keeping the bearing together is the surface tension of it's grease. Remove it just before you press the hub in, after you've pressed the bearing into the knuckle.

Doh!!!!!! :) I thought it was some kind of racing part or a bearing for another model/year. loll I found that part quite weird cuz it was reducing the diameter and made of plastic! I usually see the bearings installed or removed, but not new out of the box with the plastics and everything. :)

tnx
