Well I went and bought the OEM Subaru gasket kit, normally I buy the cheapest gaskets I can, but normally I am putting together a Chrysler or Chevy motor. FelPro has always worked fine. This Subaru stuff is new to me and everything I have seen and read about was to use OEM gaskets. I can Honestly say that I am glad I did. Not only did the gasket kit have everything in it, it had valve keepers, valve guide seals, doubles of the common gaskets, what looks like high quality head gaskets and everything you will ever need to do a complete rebuild of my 2 liter motor. Anyway here is my question, it looks like they make this kit to cover a few years and they include some gaskets I don't need. I could figure out most of the gaskets but I don't recognize these and I'm hoping someone with more Subaru experience than I can identify them for me. I never intended to disassemble the motor but just like most of you the engineer in me wouldn't allow me to see a leak and not investigate. I'm glad I did because the head gasket did have a minor leak and it was in the one cylinder with a little lower compression than the rest. Please let me know if you know what these are for.

I think the left round seals are head related, while I think the rest are timing cover related. The short spikes seal the timing belt cover against the block/case. The other looks like for the cover, too. Sorry,... kinda guessing without going into the cold garage and digging around. You may not use the rubber for your covers. They seem familiar to me as being for my DVACS, '08+ EJ 257 motor.

I got one of those funny "L" shaped gaskets with my water pump. Not sure exactly where it goes yet, but I know it has something to do with the water pump.

between the pump and the motor... not a water seal, a dirt/debris seal I just juggled mine a couple months ago...
