BLOWS! Got to be the worst software on the market. Not only does it refuse to work, it killed my system.

I have been using KIS for a few years. My license expired, so I renewed. After two weeks of frustration, I couldn't get the new software to accept the new key code. Tried it on 3 different computers, too.

I contacted Kaspersky tech support. Their advice was RTFS, re-boot, and good luck.

I demanded a refund, which I got.

Then I un-installed the software, and that's where things went from bad to worse.

Now I don't have a mouse, and none of the keyboard windows commands work. The computer will boot up, but I can't access the system or any of the programs.

There are multiple fixes available. Kaspersky has a web page dedicated to this problem. They've know about it for years, but apparently refuse to fix it.

I have tried recover, disc restore, windows fix, even purchased commercial repair software. None of them have helped may. Today alone I'v wasted 3-4 hours trying to fix this. All to no avail.

I guess I'll take it in to a shop later this week and pay some one to edit the registry and get it fixed.

KASPERSKY INTERNET SECURITY BLOWS! whatever you do, don't buy it. You will probably regret it. I know I do.

Kaspersy Internet Security and Kaspersky antivirus have done more damage to my system than any virus I'v ever come in contact with.

I do the "tech" work on my mothers laptop... She Runs McAfee security software, it keeps popping up a window that I think is because its expired. BUT it is just a solid black box taking up 25% of the screen. When I try to uninstall it, the uninstall box is, yes you guessed it, a bigger black box! UGH

Sorry to hear. I had the same problems. Your system has to be healthy before installing this or any "safety" software and any previous security must be deleted.
I went through this more than once. I swallowed the bullet, bought Macs and never had this problem again. I still have windows just for my old files, but barely even turn it on.
What Mac has over PC is quality and consistency. I use their browser or their recommended one, nothing else. It is plug and play and really no different, really. The costs are higher, no doubt, but I am never scrambling for anti virus and with all 4 of our new computers, nothing has happened.Their updates just come and we update.
I now have "their" cloud system located in our home, our own cloud, it is a back up that you control (3 terra bites) and WI FI router that is so powerful I can walk to a neighbor's home and still be connected. Sure I spent a lot, but so far, flawless, and if you go to their classes (you don't need to if you just operate like you do now) you will be a happy camper because these do more than imagined. If I were to compare the two systems, I would say I once had a tool box and always used the tools, but now I have time and never think about the frustrations, it always just works. Draw backs, yes. I do graphics so I had to buy photoshop for MAC & that was expensive. If you used your recovery disk and it didn't fix, you may have mechanical problems since this disk will wipe all your files and start over. I just jumped in and have never regretted it. I use no anti virus, no pop ups and now my back up is also a bridge that viruses can't cross and I always have back up to all of our machines in one unit, automatic.
A top end windows machine today is 20 to 25% less than a Mac & I have already saved that over buying anti virus. After almost 20 years running windows, the change took a week at best and that was only because I was trying all the new features, otherwise I was up and running normally in a few days because there are a few "right/left" differences, but as far as being online, that was instant.
We have a Thunderbolt monitor now(a big screen) that any of our machines can just plug into if we want a large screen, all wireless key boards and mouse. No more wires or speakers-simple. Even any smart TV can be used with no effort too.
Once you get hooked on these, it can become habitual. We just added their solid state model-no moving parts-Mac Book air and that is amazing.
