A while back I got in with a local turbo rebuilder, we sourced all the parts to service and rebuild OEM Subaru turbos made by IHI. Previously if one went bad we just threw it away, no longer.
Rebuilt turbos come with a 12/12 warranty and are $550 with a $100 core charge.
Want a spare, no problem, just don't return your TD04 and we keep the $100.
We always have have several in rotation and they can be boxed up and shipped out via UPS in a days notice. We take Visa, Master, and Discover or PayPal.
I ran a rebuilt turbo last year on my SCCA Solo ESP car and took it all the way to a championship. Makes 230whp/260tq on E85 at 18psi all day long with no issues.
Thanks! Keith - Six Star Cars

We can also rebuild your turbo, prices are subjective to the condition of the turbo itself. And we're not just limited to the stock TD04, almost any OEM Subaru turbo made by IHI can be serviced. VF39s, 43s, 40s, etc.

We're replenishing our stocks next week and adding VF39s and VF43s for those that want some extra punch!
My 2.0 made 260whp and 253ft/lbs on a VF43 two seasons ago, it really is a great fit for those wanting just a LITTLE bit more from their EJ20/EJ25.
Prices are $750 exchange or $900 outright.

Would you think about offering to rebuild a TD04L and replacing the 13t with 19t, with the option of also switching out for the larger TD04H or TD04HL turbine shaft? There are a couple of other shops that do this, but I'd love to see a FFR vendor offer it :)
Also.. what are your thoughts on creating a hybrid TD04L 19t vs. other options such as the VF43?

Most of these have brand new center sections so they're not just rebuilt they're basically brand new. Not much mixing and matching.
I can talk to our builder and see what he thinks, I can say with some confidence that if it can be done then we can do it, but it may not carry the same warranty as an OEM stock build. I will let you know ASAP.

New upgrade for the TD04L - $650 for OEM turbos with brand new center sections. These will carry the same warranty as the rebuilt turbos but with the added comfort of knowing they have brand new center sections coupled with cleaned and blasted intake and exhaust housings.
Should have a hybrid reply later today or early tomorrow.

I'm considering a VF48 upgrade for my '07 wrx engine. Would you have an interest in selling a rebuilt vf48 to me with a TD04-13t core return? I may have you help me determine just what turbo I have to be sure if you are interested. The turbo, if original stock, has 42k on it.

I run a VF-35 (yes, thirty five) (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=vf35+turbo)on my daily that I may have to have rebuilt one of these years. Oil was leaking out of the rear shaft seal for about 18 months there. Seems to have stopped doing that. I don't know why it would. But for 2 winters it would create a bluish-white smoke screen if I idled it warm for more than 1 minute (so like every stop light).

Ha ha, I LOVE when parts fix themselves.
That's a rare one, might have to see if we can still get parts, I'm sure we can.

No go on the hybrid turbos. With the cost of mixing kits and machine work it's just not feasible when given the options of just bolting on a VF39 or 43. Lo Siento. ~ Keith

What do you think a VF43 with a 2.5L will produce?
