So-getting ready to rebuild the motor, 2002 donor with ~150K miles, and have run into a few snags.....

Some background to help with suggestions- I'm building the car with my kids so they learn how a car works. We aren't really going for an all out build on this one.

Would love to have some opinions on a few things:

1. Pulled the intake manifold to find a torn turbo inlet hose. Replacements seem to be all over the map. We can go $65 for a ebay model, $75 for a God Speed, and then jump to $180-$225 for Perrin and others. Which one would you buy?

Also- need a full gasket kit for the rebuild. I usually only use factory gaskets, cometic, or Felpro, but am not familiar with a lot of the Japanese aftermarket brands.

Would you consider a gasket kit like this with head bolts for $250 or go for what I consider the normal route of Fel-pro for $320 and another $80-$100 for head bolts?

Appreciate the suggestions

ive always used the godspeed inlets on my wrxs and they have been fine and held up in autocross situations. i see no reason to spend 3 times as much for the same thing with a different name on it. as far as gaskets go, i like OEM for head gaskets on subarus. also check out subarugenuineparts.com some stuff on there is priced really well. not sure how i feel about that ebay gasket kit only because it's not clear on what brand all those gaskets are.
i bought my gasket kit on this site http://www.builtej.com/home.php if you create an account and use the coupon code: NASIOC you can get an additional 10% off and flat rate shipping.

I've always used oem Master gasket kits. I also used an eBay turbo inlet for 5 years with no issues and its now going on my 818.
