Has anyone looked into adding a supercharger to a 2.5L donor. Less turbo lag, better performance. A company called Rotrex builds supercharger kits for almost anything. They make a Subbie kit resulting in a increase from 173HP to 245HP without figuring in an exhuast or ECU mapping upgrades.

Rotrex makes the blowers themselves and the third party companies use them in their turbo kits, IE JacksonRacing.
The kit you are referring to on their website is made by a Chinese company, I wouldn't hold your breath trying to get it.
There are however several Australian based companies that do them with a Rotrex.
The are very cost prohibitive, especially with today's lousy exchange rates. figure $4-6k+ usds... for that price they don't really make sense to make 200 whp.

Superchargers on Subies are mostly 1 off customs or kits from the days of the 2.5RS when we didn't get the WRX here.

"Better performance" is debatable IMO.
I don't think numbers-wise the SCs are better than turbos, it's more a question of your own requirements.

I agree with Frank, but if you look at the numbers, a stock EZ36 will do that for a much cheaper price. AND, you could always supercharge it if you really wanted to get even more power.

As mentioned, Rotrex is a supercharger supplier for a traction drive centrifugal blower. The Rotrex is probably one of the best S/Cs on the market because of its traction drive system instead of a typical gear driven centrifugal blower, the traction drive allows the SC to "spool" faster than a gear driven centrifugal. compared to a turbo, the Rotrex wont be as efficient, but it wont tax the engines oil or cooling system the way a turbo will either as the Rotrex has its own self contained lubrication and cooling set up.
Several suppliers are create kits or you can buy the blower and build it however you want. Kraftwerks (new company started by Oscar Jackson and Skunk2) is currently working on building a Rotrex kit for the new BRZ.
