I'm piecing my 818R together, so I try only to buy West Coast parts for their ease of clean up. Here is an example of two 2005 Legacy GT transmissions. The "Dirty" one has 10K less miles that the "Clean" one. You can also spy my Knuckles all cleaned up.
I love clean parts!

I'm also getting ready to install this goody- Guard Transmission WRX LSD (1.5) from my good buddy Matt there. Top notch products- I use them in our Porsche Race cars.

Nice, whats your plan to get your speedo to work, installing the gear drive in the trans or run a stand alone and read hub speed?
I have an 05 LGT ive been daily driving i plan on using as much from as i can when i go to build my 818r.
Slick diff by the way.

That looks like a Modena, I wonder if its the same casing.
Nice work on those knuckles. did you press the bearings out before media blasting?

Thanks-
Yes- I removed the old bearings first- cleaned them up then pressed in the new OEM bearings.
As far as a speedo, I don't need to do anything since it is a race car. I have Traqmate unit that uses GPS for speed.
That diff is not a copy or Chinese knock off. It's made here in the USA by Matt at Guard Transmission.

I didn't say it was a Chinese knockoff. Just that the case looked to be the same. Modenas are made in Australia.

I was referring to the OBX- But yes those look very similar.
I only have had experience with his Porsche LSD's before, I know he makes those here. One of them in going on 10 years without a single problem in my race car.
