Quick question for the experts. I'm assembling my engine and I'm following the 06 Wrx FSM. The factory oil cooler I'm using looks exactly the same minus the two adaptors that are used for the 06 as compared to the 04 I'm using. What are the adaptors for? Do I need them as the one I have mounts as did on the 04. I see no reason for it?
And a side note I'm in the need of single avcs cam gear covers. Thx for the help

The exhaust manifold on the 06 was different. The 06 oil cooler adapter angled the oil filter away from the exhaust so it wouldn't interfere.

Ok thx. I have a aftermarket header system so ill just have to test fit it all. You wouldn't happen to have cam covers or the drivers avcs oil line?

Can covers no. I had to buy some myself. Avcs line is a maybe, but unlikely.

Cam covers are surprisingly cheap from Subaru. Do you need all 3 fronts? the backs too?

Sam, if you install Perrin equal length headers on a 2006 WRX 2.5 you'll need to remove the OE oil cooler and replace it with the smaller oil cooler for 02-05 WRX or 04+ STI. I just went through this and the Perrin web site has a diagram of the exact parts to remove and replace.

I have the back pass, and center if there the same I don't know. I think I would just but a complete set if anybody had it.
And as far as the oil cooler. I mounted up my sti oil pan and the agency power header I bought cracked(ya I'm pissed) and the 04 cooler I had fits just fine. Thx for the info guys
