Impact wrench no good in that situation? (remember, I'm not a mechanic!)

haha yea I couldn't get mine out either. I ended up drilling through the center of all 4 bolts to losen them up and taking them out.

On the tough ones I've had before, I completely remove the cam from the head and then use an impact wrench. The only reason you need to actually remove the pulley for is to replace the cam seals. Caveat...I have not done any AVCS heads, so those may be different.

No problem, that bar can't be any longer than 42" :-P

Had the same issue with the flywheel nut on the 13B... I think its factory torqued to 350 ftlbs and has thread locker. I broke a 3/4" drive ratchet and had to borrow a 1" drive. Used a 2ft ratchet with a 4 ft cheater bar. good times.

Sounds like a perfect job for a BIG impact wrench and impact sockets- with plenty of air power behind it.

It also needs to be mentioned that Wayne will be auditioning for Popeye III The Later Years. Coming to a theater near you. :)
