    How about a configurator?

Rodney posted a really cool player with his design where you could change colors, rotate and zoom to look at all different angles of his rendering. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be currently working as it once did.

I thought it would be really cool for a similar player to be posted on the FFR site, for the 818. An 818 configurator could show different colors of not just the whole body, but different colors for different panels. For example someone might want to consider ordering a kit with a two toe body; red fenders with a black hood and trunk. The configuator could show different options like a wing or a splitter, and maybe even different wheel sizes.

Perhaps they could recruit Rodney for his computer wizardy skills. They are far, far beyond my own.

Definitely up for something like that! Once FFR releases all the options that will be available for the kit, it'd be nice to have a tool like this to visualize what your 818 will look like! Might think something won't look nice but then add some other options to it and suddenly it just looks sexy!

I like the configurator that Mini has. As you select options it updates the image of the car and informs you of options that are mutually exclusive or when you can add other things in a package. For example, if you add Xenon headlamps, it tells you that if you get the sport package you also get hood stripes and something else for only $Y more, which is a savings of $Z.

I like this idea (which credit due, has come up in other threads before, great minds...) Not only does it give serious buyers a means to quickly sort out their build plan, it gives dreamers something to dream about.

These are dream cars after all. I can see images of customized 818 posters hanging on the walls in adolescents rooms. Plus in garages of those not so adolescent.

This could be as much a marketing tool as it is a build plan tool. Not that FFR is going to need to do any marketing efforts for the 818...

Not to promote the other guys, but Flyin' Miatas has a cool interactive configurator for their Miata-based Westfield / 7esque:

Something like that would be very cool to see for 818.

Doesn't FFR already have a type of web configurator for the Roadster? Or was that just a temporary forum gift?
