Windshield wiper wheel box locations with firewall forward

    Hello all

Creeping up on getting to the State patrol office for my VIN inspection here in Colorado. One of the last few steps I have is to mount the wiper wheel boxes. I went with the specialty windows unit, and I installed a firewall forward in my Mk4. I wanted to see if the locations of the wheel boxes needs to be changed at all? Sounds like it might be the better/easier answer to have the cable run to the front/hood side of the engine bay rather than towards the firewall? All input appreciated!

    Thanks

You can't just go and try to see which works better?

I went through this, and I’d recommend mocking up the wheel box mounts to see how much clearance you’ll have. Take a look at post #200 in my build thread.

Thanks Terry, VERY helpful to see the pics you took as well!

Did you end up putting them at FF's recommended 3" from the engine bay? Could you have come even further towards the engine bay?

I'm fairly certain I followed the ffr instructions. I can measure for you if it would help.

Rian, I followed the FFR instructions for placement side to side, but used my own judgement regarding proximity to the windshield, largely dictated by how much room I had underneath the cowl.
