    Working Mans Paint Booth

I live in a town of 650 people. What are the odds there would be two FFR Cobra's being built at the same time in our "village"? We beat the odds. As you all may know I finished my MK4 last May. Seems my friend Mike has a 289 Cobra he's ready to do body panel fitment and paint prep. He had his Cobra on a trailer on his way to a shop 30 miles away where he was going to commute to. Well BS to that! He's a half mile from me and I have the space. I had my Amazon 12'X20' "garage" disassembled for some house painting projects. We set up the frame in the shop and covered it with visquien (sic). $350 for the "garage", $125 for the visquien, $40 for 2 20" fans from GW, $10 for furnace filters. All in for just over $500 for a "paint booth". Though he will be doing sanding and body work only in it. He said he was farming out the paint. But this lash up will be cheap and keep all the dust out of my shop while I finish the Studebaker.

I really like his car. He built the 289 and everything is old school a la 1965. I'll leave it up to him to post anymore details about the car.

I picked up a pair of 1957 Silver Hawks a few years ago to build one. 1st was out of Texas, solid no rust, but stripped, the other was from Minnesota, complete car, but rotted sheetmetal. I've done a total rotiserie resto-mod. All new floors and trunk metal, 331 Windsor stroker, 4 speed toploader, Triagulated 4 link 9" rearend. Mustang II front suspension, 4 wheel disk brakes, 56 Chevy Bel-Air dashboard, Dakota Digital gauges, custom interior, GPS & stereo AM FM CD in a custom console, tons of mods but has the classic lines of the Hawks.

    Hey Lance
Mike said he posted quite a bit on his 1st MK4 but rarely posts these days. Looks like there will be 4 of us plus the guy over in Troutdale building the Daytona. We should do a couple drives.
On another note, good weather this week if you want to stop by and check out Mikes car.
