    MK4 Steering Shaft Clearance

I could use some guidance/insight here. I have the Factory Five power steering rack for my MK4 build and mounted a CVR racing power steering pump with integral reservoir. As you can see on the pictures, I have clearance issues. I don't know that I have enough length in the steering shaft to get this to drop a bit more to clear the power steering pulley and the brake line.

I'm sure open to any ideas people have as I can't be the only one that has run up against this.

Don't know what you did to that steering shaft, but that's not right. You have the wrong pump and bracket setup.

Looks like you have the 5.0L-SERPENTINE-PS bracket which as you found won't work. You need to be using the 302-SERPENTINE-PSH bracket which brings the pump in and up.

Yeah. I have the CVF Racing 351W-SERPENTINE-PS which is a "mid mount". I've got a message into their support group to see if it is simple bracket and belt swap or if it is a whole new set up.

    Thanks for the quick response.

Did you cut the steering shaft or switch it around somehow?

I agree w/MSumners...it looks like your u-joint near the footbox is far too forward also. Maybe you did this on-purpose to fit your pump and bracket?
