    Steering Shaft

Anyone know what grade of steel the steering shafts are made of? I need to make one that is a couple of inches longer to accommodate my dash design.

Not sure but maybe it would be easier to just buy a longer DD shaft that the steering shaft slides into.

That is an excellent idea, I did not think about it from that end. Do you know of any good sources for it? It does not seem to be as readily available as the solid shaft. I see one from Holley that is black, but I was trying to stick with the natural finish.

    Thanks,

Looks like this is an option: https://www.borgeson.com/1-DD-Shaft-36-Long.html. It looks black in the photo, but after talking with them on the phone, they said it is just raw steel. This is also an option that has black zinc coating.

Amazon, Speedway, Summit. You can get those in different lengths almost anywhere.

Summit Racing has them in varying lengths. I saw both 24" and 36".
