Stripes under hood and trunk lid

I’m finalizing some painting decisions with Ken over the next couple weeks, and one of them is whether to stripe the undersides of the hood and trunk lid. How many of you guys did that? On one hand I can see how it finishes things nicely, but also kind of silly since nobody will see it.

100% a personal decision. I've seen a number that way. Many including mine not. It's kind of cool I guess but for me anyway doesn't add anything except cost.

I did stripes under the hood and trunk. I think it adds a lot and have gotten a lot of comments on them at shows.

Stripes under the hood are if you want to take attention away from your engine. So no for me.

I don't think stripes take any attention away from the engine.

Owner's preference. I've done some (Including "Papa's" car in the photo above) but I'd say it's about an 80% without 20% with split. I can tell you that I charge as much to put them under the hood and trunk as I do for on top because it's kind of a pain in the a$$. My buddy Jeff Miller agrees (and I bet Ken does also) and said that he tried to discourage owners from doing it by bruising their ego and telling them "the only reason to put stripes under the hood is if you have a crappy looking engine" ...Although Papa Dave proves that wrong!

Was part of they 80% that skipped it. Hood & trunk are not open enough to make it worthwhile. Don't even have the type of engine that the stripes would take away from. Basic run of the mill Coyote.

Didn't have stripes last time. I have them this time. And this time is better. Gives that attention to detail vibe.
