Distance between footbox and body?
Hey, all. I am working on stereo fitment and have been playing through various scenarios. One is to put 6.5" components in the inside outer wall of each footbox. My body is currently off and still under paint/body so I cannot get a good idea of how much space remains between the outer wall of each footbox and the inside surface of the body. I am looking at this in case there is room to sink the speakers "a little" into this cavity. I know I would need to weatherproof this opening to protect the speakers in case of blowby at the front fender skirts. Thanks for any insight.

There’s not much room but I’ll get you some pics in the morning.

Thanks Jeff! I too am interested in this measurement...but I only need about 3/8"

Don't know if this will help but I put 5.5" Polk speakers in the side panels below the doors. You can see the cutout near the blue tape. Foam cups insulate them. Large speakers are in a below dash console I built.

See if this helps.

Thanks much, Jeff. That's what I needed to see.

Thanks Jeff
Looks like the dead pedal ("kick-out") part of the panel is pretty close to the body...likely designed for maximum footbox room with manufacturing margin. Seems expected. I'm still hoping it is a little more than 3/8"...
I can also see the "air conditioner" foam installed and the space close to the side vent...
Excellent picture!
