Hi all,
I have been dreaming of owning a factory five Cobra for many years. I’ve been following many forums and have marvelled at the many incredible builds out there. Well 2022 is an exciting year for me as I have ordered my kit last month from factory five. My delivery date in October 2022. With a bit of luck I may get it sooner.
I have also completed my order from the Canadian supplier Ryan Valins. I found Ryan very helpful with good advice.
So for my build I intend to fit a Windsor 351 matched to a beefed up T5 speed transmission. I’m in the extremely slow process of building my engine. Receiving parts is, a nightmare right now. I will be fitting Edlebrook performance cylinder heads and intake. Roller cam and carburetor. Hoping to pull 470HP as the block is decked and bored over size and I’ll be fitting flat top pistons to increase compression.
I hope to get to know many of you here in Canada cobra land. I will keep you updated of my progress.
While I’ll be waiting and waiting I got into a big project getting my dump of a garage ready for the build. I’m almost finished this part I have attached pictures of my garage as I don’t have a cobra yet lol
Take care all
Ciarán

Hi Zee,
Good to hear from you. I’m in Whitby Ontario. I’d love to connect thank you
I think it’s a great idea as the red tape of the unknown is crazy.
See you on WhatsApp
Hey Skid, Congrats on pulling the trigger - I see your delivery is pretty much the same as mine as well as the Comp Kit supplier. Garage looks great! I had to do the same kinda prep before starting the build.
Happy planning!

Update on my project. I’m hoping to collect my kit before Christmas. I’m in the process of building the engine for the Cobra. It’s a 351 Windsor motor. I will post photos up soon
there was nothing better than when they delivered my Roadster in 2012, I was like a kid in the candy store and I couldn't wait to unpack everything, hope you have just as much fun as I did building this beautiful car
Well I’ve been busy building my MK 4 Cobra. I picked it up in December 2022 and this August in 2025 I had the Cobra registered for the road. Complete finished in the gel coat. I had intended to put about 500 miles up on the newly built engine. A 351 Windsor, AFR cylinder heads, roller valve train. Installed a Voodoo camshaft matched with edlebrook air gap intake and AVS 2 carburetor. I got about 400 miles of delightful driving. The engine was great no issues and impressed with the torque even thought I haven’t opened it up yet. Unfortunately I had a back injury in September and was unable to drive it for the remainder of the summer. The Cobra is now getting stripped to get it ready for painting in 2026. Here’s a few clips of my Cobra. My build was documented on Instagram under the handle Ciaran_lowe_.
