2004 Ford Mustang GT 4.6 liter - Fully Disassembled - Cancer Precludes my Build

About two years ago my sons and I began dismantling a 2004 Anniversary Edition Ford Mustang GT. We completed that project storing parts in boxes, the engine on a rack, the wheels in the backyard, and the transmission with the slipping second gear (which is why we bought it) in the storage shed. Shortly thereafter, I placed my order for the Roadster kit. Then came the cancer diagnosis. I was graciously allowed to cancel my order with much emotion. The parts have been gathering dust since as I’ve been kidding myself that I’d get better and place another order. Having just received my expiration date (6 months to live prognosis) I am finally being realistic that that isn’t going to happen. I am looking, therefore, for a fellow dreamer who has been itching to build their way into legendary status but hasn’t found the right donor. I can’t promise that everything is there, but damn near all of it is (catalytic converters were stolen…). I’d like to get $1,500 for the lot. I also had already taken the first step indicated by the manual and cut down the springs so I’d like to be able to say I helped build your car (Ha!). We are in the suburbs north of Denver.

    Thank you.

I am so very sorry for your diagnosis. My heart hurts for you and your family. Perhaps your dream can find its way to someone else and your boys will always cherish the memories of the tear down of the Mustang together.

I don’t know what you know, or believe, but for me, I began reading the Bible at an early age. I believe what is written in its pages as being God’s owner’s manual for our lives.
It tells us that all of us fall short of the glory of God through sin. That sin separates us from God. The only way to be forgiven of that sin, and then be reconciled with God is through Jesus Christ, believing and being baptized into his salvation.

This is what I believe, to my core. God’s word and my belief in him has been my guiding principle and foundation through good times, and bad.
I am currently struggling with some health issues as well. Waiting on biopsy to determine how serious my condition may be.
But the bottom line is, we are all terminal. All of us have an expiration date. Am I uneasy about my diagnosis, sure. But that is tempered and comforted by faith and the knowledge of God’s undying promise.
I will pray for you and your family. I will pray that you get to have as many good days with your boys as you possibly can. And I pray that you know, or will come to know, the same peace that that I know.
God’s grace and Godspeed to you.

42Bfast- Well said, I have little to add.

DenverSailors- I too am sorry to hear your diagnosis, it sounds as though you have maintained some sense of humor which is necessary and commendable. I will second 42B's comments about the peace and calm from the assurance of God's eternal salvation. I pray that you and your family have or find the same peace and calm in the difficult time you are in.
