Unknown Aluminum Chassis Panels
Hello Y'all,
I'm new to the forum - I recently inherited a partially completed Mk II roadster from a family member and have taken on the task of trying to finish the build. This has come with its own challenges, including boxes full of loose, unlabeled parts.
Among those unlabeled parts are these Aluminum body panels - I've flipped through the Mk. II instruction manual a dozen times and cannot seems to find installation instructions for these anywhere. Can any of y'all shed some light on what I'm looking at, and where it's meant to go?

Also below is the progress so far... Mk II roadster, w/ 347 stroker

Any help is appreciated!

Left 2 panels are front elephant ears for behind front wheels. Center 3 lower panels are between radiator and body and right panels are for below door openings. I’ve never seen the 2 to center panels in my kits.

Thank you henry, super helpful info. do the front elephant ears rivet directly to the F shaped aluminum panel flange?
Additional - would you recommend attaching the splash guards & the radiator aluminum panels before or after fitting the body?

elephant ears (splash guards) and radiator alum go on after body has been fit.

Yes, elephant ears rivet directly to the F shaped aluminum panel flange.

What they said! You’ll see the angled piece of aluminum on the f panels. That’s where the elephant ear rivets to. Also one 3/16 rivet through the bottom of the body to the elephant ear. Don’t forget to put bulb seal everywhere it touches body.

The 2 long”strip” panels go between the door opening and the frame. That design was useless. Call and ask if you can get the newer style that is bent to fit. Much nicer.
