    Stewart Driver appreciation ideas

So just got the call yesterday tentatively scheduling by Stewart delivery date.

I have to say communication with stewart has been a breeze. Everything has happened on the timeline they originally provided (thanks to FFR for also keeping the schedule)

At end of day, this stewart driver is my new best friend even if they don’t appreciate it yet. I want them to head back to MA with everything I can provide for a great trip- they are my hero at this point. Suggestions welcome!

Some home cooked meals, soup etc, with plenty of fresh veggies (so hard to eat well on the road). Put it in microwavable containers. Make enough to fill the truck's fridge (if it has one) Home made cake or biscuits for a treat. Usually time is money, if he/ she can spare the time, sit them down for a meal. It's a pleasant alternative to a steering wheel lunch, or truck stop diner.
Drivers are humble and taught not to make a fuss for the customer. Be prepared and be insistent!

Growing up in a company town where everyone was on subsistence wages, I remember my mother making take home food for the young workers that would come and do maintenance on our house. They really appreciated it, and their joy in receiving it has stuck with me all my life. Added bonus, we ended up with the best house on the street, so mum was well rewarded for her efforts!

Make sure you get plenty of photos of delivery day.

    Cheers nige

Be nice and appreciative. Know them by name. Help as much as you can. Feed them or offer to go snacks and a handful of $$ in the handshake on the way out. Finally
    Thank them.

Start w/ a cooler full of drinks. Water, juices, sodas. Who knows what would be his favorite? I would also offer beer, one beer, if he seems like he has a few minutes to enjoy one with you. I would not offer a beer as in a 'one for the road'. Have a pizza ready to warm up. I would probably stay away from pepperoni but that may just be my stomach talking. I think some type of chicken is pretty universal and I also like Hawaiian (ham and pineapple) as a 'most anyone will like it' choice. 2-3 $20 bills rolled up in your hand for that last thanks and handshake works really well.
