Question RT Turn Signal - Too Tight?

    Hi,

I have about 100 km on my first MKIV build. I have the RT Turn Signal system. I've noticed that it seems a little tight, so much that if I turn left in my driveway, the left signal comes on all by itself (i.e. the stalk engages). And when I signal to turn right, it's a bit stiff and won't always stay engaged. Sometimes I have to hold it there. And then, as I finish the right turn and bring the wheel back counter-clockwise, the left signal will engage on it's own and so I have to pop it back up.

Just wondering if this is just normal break-in stuff and whether or not it might loosen over time. Or, if I need to adjust something or spray some lubricant in the mechanism.

    Thanks,

    32J

You have the steering wheel hub to close to the turn signal switch. Try to maintain an 1/8" gap between the back of the hub and the face of the turn signal mechanism.
