Question Soft top...anyone have a Whitby Motorcars soft top. Recomendations for soft or hard

Hello all, hope you had a good Easter. I am looking for a soft or hard top for my MK4. Any recommendations?
Whitby? about $1700, but they "have to make some"
    Factory Five? expensive
    ABE or is it ABF
Will another replica manufacturer's top fit?
How about a bikini top to keep the sun off my cancer prone skin?
    I appreciate any ideas.
Or does someone have a top for sale?
    Thank you,
    Jeff

I have the Whitby but got it before the price went up and it does take awhile (few months a year ago) to make. Don’t know if it still takes that long. GTBradley has one and it is installed so he might weigh in on it or you can PM him. Mine is not on the car yet.

For keeping the sun at bay and in Florida, I'd recommend a Bimini top. Talk to SJDave via PM. He's a forum member that makes a really nice looking Bimini top.

Wether you go soft or hard top be sure ALL windows can be removed. I had an APE hardtop that was always on the car. It is very nice to have the top for shade and all windows out for air flow.

I've had a Whitby top for over 10 years and really like it. It's nicely made and is holding up well. Keeps me warm in the winter, mostly dry when it rains and keeps the sun off in the summer. It takes about half an hour to put it on or take it off. Most years I put it on in October and remove it when it seems like it might really be summer in Ohio. I left it on one full summer and found I liked the shade. It can get hot in stop and go traffic but for long drives I found I prefer the shade. Something that might surprise you is that it's quite a bit louder in the car when the top is on.
