2K Urethane primer surfacer - What brand? Where to buy?
Painting Steps:
1) Rage Gold, 3M, Glass (vinyl Easter resin w/ cloth…wow it’s sticky) and kitty hair
2) 2 Gallons of slick sand to shoot
3) Here’s the question:
Jeff K recommends to shoot 2K Urethane primer surfacer over the slick sand, recommends shop line JP202
I’m unable to locate that primer
What recommendation do you have for a 2K Urethane primer?
Has anyone used?

Bonus question: what is the best clear coat to finish the car off with?
Thanks in advance

Shop line is a mid level PPG paint line . Try Painters supply store PPG vendor. Most paint systems stay with the same system from primer to paint and clear for maximum cross linking .

Most of Eastwood is rebranded Sherwin Williams Automotive products, so if you have a local Sherwin Williams (automotive, not your home retail store) paint supplier in your area, you can buy direct and save yourself some money, also, keep in mind, you'll want to use the same product line from primer to finish.....In addition, and I've posted this before, while there are many "brands" of paint, there are only 3 or 4 major manufacturers of the products themselves, as such, a lot of what you will find out on the market are rebranded, but even so, you do not want to mix and match product line, as you never know what each base product actually is, or who it came from.
2K Urethane primer is just another name for a quick curing, high build primer, easy to sand and manipulate.
Finally, you will want a "Glamour Clear" (every manufacturer markets it as something else), a high gloss, low build, slow curing, but quite durable clearcoat that you can buff to a hard shine.

Shop Line is exclusive to PPG’s highest level Platinum Distributors. PPG Omni MP282 is the same product, just a different label, and should be available through any PPG distributor of any level. I shoot JP202/MP282through a 1.4 at 31psi and it lays out slick.
My go-to clear for years has been 5 Star Xtreme #5125 but my supplier just told me that after the 2 gallons that he has squirreled away for me are gone he doesn’t know when or if he will be able to get more. Apparently the word from the manufacturer is that a couple of the components used to produce it are hanging in supply chain limbo. Second choice and another that I have used and like is PPG Vibrance VC5700 Ditzler Custom Clear.
Cheers,
Jeff

I used Southern Polyurethane Inc.'s products after the slicksand (2k urethane, sealer, base & clear). I was very happy with the results (and I have a couple trophy's that agree).
Tamco products seem to be well liked by many people also.

I have heard good things about SPI products on a Mustang forum.
Where do you buy their products?
I see an Order Phone Number on the website but I also read about people that use a jobber to get theirs.
I'm not sure where to even start looking for a jobber...
Thanks,
Richard

If you call them, they can direct you to a local to you jobber or, if none, will sell to you direct. Most people buy direct from them. Their customer service and help for novices is unbelievable. I used their universal clear. As a novice I practiced extensively and once it suddenly clicked for me on gun adjustment, overlap and following the wet edge, i did fine.
I’ve had several “paint guys” that have commented on how deep my black is and the quality of my paint job. I sprayed 5 coats clear and then flow coated it. Turned out beautiful, albeit it took me 40 gazillion hours of work to get it all done.

PPG as well as other brands are having big problems with supply chain. I, Myself use PPG Shopline urethane primer but have found myself SOL . My next choice is U-Pol urethane primer. ..da Bat
