    Question Door Latch Sound Dampening

Anyone else notice that FF's instructions for the new door latches have illustrations and photos for the sound dampening that are not symmetrical?

Do I follow the CAD illustration or the actual photographs?

    Thanks,

I didn't get to the latches yet, but is it possible one is for the left latch and the other for the right? I'm not even sure they are different between left and right

How difficult is it to hold the cover in place, and actually look where it needs to go.

I have a MK3 and have never seen this. Is this to reduce vibration? I rebuilt both my latches so they work smoothly (the carriage bolt trick), but I did not use any sound deadening. I must have some fat mat left over...

These are newly designed latches by Factory Five to replace the unobtainium (apparently) replica latches. Released by FF earlier this year. To the OP, not sure what the sound deadening is about. But placed wherever it doesn't interfere with the internals should be fine.
