Bolt on Reverse Light
I posted about this on my build thread but figured I'd post a thread about it here so it is easier to find. NY requires a reverse light for initial registration and annual safety inspection, so we had to incorporate one into our build. I looked around and saw a bunch of options, but didn't want to permanently cut holes in the body. I decided to try and come up with a different way to use the Mini Cooper reverse light that a lot of people use. I bought one on ebay that included the connector and designed a 3D printed housing that clamps on the drivers side rear quick jack/bumper bolts. It's held together with 3x 1/4-20 nylocks that push into the rectangular holes in the back and 3x 1.25" long 1/4-20 socket head cap screws that clamp it together, so it is really easy to install. We also quickly sanded it and shot it with some spray paint to match our body color.

There is no way we would have been able to succeed with our build without the incredible support this forum has provided, so its time to give back. If anyone wants to give this setup a try, go for it. I posted all of my 3D print files in a shared folder on google drive so you can print on your own printer or send away to one of the many places out there that do 3D printing. The only thing I ask in return is to pay it forward and help keep this place the amazing resource that it is.

There are 2 sets of files, one sized for the standard factory five bumper/quick jack spacers, and one sized for the 3/4" OD stainless spacers that we ended up using in our build. Fair warning, I did have to trim some of the tabs off of the Mini light and do a little bit of filing on the 3D print to get it to fit nicely. I tried to update the model to make it a little easier to fit, but the tabs on the light will still need to be trimmed. If anyone does give it a try and has issues with it, please let me know and I'll try to fix the files.
