transmission mount questions - Coyote & TKX (or TKO)

getting to the point where I'm going to test fit the engine

I spray-painted the raw steel bracket to reduce corrosion
in assembling the transmission mount it seems there are 6 'extra' bolts
are the plated ones in the bag used to mount to the chassis?

Given the pics from the manual, I put the 1.5" bolts from the mount to the adjoining bracket with the locknuts
the manual says for the bracket to use 1.5" bolts, but all I have are the 1.7" bolts, will they be too long?

what do those bolts mount into on the transmission? are nuts needed? or just thread into the inner threads shown in the pic below?

Don't know if this will help or hinder but went back like this after a recant clutch replacement.



Homemade locating studs are for the driveshaft hoop & not part of the trans mount.

perfect thank you! I was thinking the actual bushing would attach to the chassis, not the A-Frame - thanks!
also good to see that the Metco piece is also tied in there as well!?

I've also noticed many people do transmission spacers - where would those fit in the mix here?

Trans spacers are usually used to get driveline angles correct. Somewhere in the 1/2-3/4inch thick is common. There are quite a few threads that go into the details. Search driveline angles, pinion angles, and similar.

Thanks Craig - I was looking for the placement of the spacers, looks like they go between the transmission and the mount itself - thank you!

Yes the locating studs are replaced with the mounting bolts once its all lined up. Studs might not be necessary but at 80 sometimes need to make stuff a little easier.
