    Cool Hello from Middle GA

Good morning all. I live in Middle GA. I am originally from Up State New York but 20 years ago the military decided I should live in middle GA and once I separated I stayed here. We love our town, our schools and our house despite the hot and humid summers. The winters on the other hand are usually fantastic.

I am still a ways from ordering my kit but I have completed step one of my plan. My Shop has been built and is just about complete. Still need to coat the floors, install some insulation, ventilation, and hopefully AC. The final inspection was Thursday and we are good to go. I even got my wife’s ride in the shop last night for a bit of a test fit and to repair a small issues with the paint on the roof.

I am still in my research stage and if anyone within a few hours drive of Middle GA has a Type 65 Coupe or in the process of building one that would be willing to show me the ins and outs of it and maybe even take me for a ride please let me know.

Hi Wishfull. Welcome. I'm located in upstate NY. I have taken the same path as you have. Started with an empty back yard and the wish to build a coupe. My first step was to also build what I'm now calling the build shop. Same type of metal garage as you show. You can follow my thread listed in my signature. I highly recommend reading thru EdwardB's coupe build thread. It is a step by step manual on how to build a fantastic coupe. I have been using my delivery wait time ordering the custom parts and upgrades. I have documented these not only in my thread but also in my picture gallery. Good luck on your journey.

Welcome, and congratulations on the great start -- a terrific workspace! I also like to see Cujo guarding the place, he looks ferocious!

There is a ton of help here, and the place is filled with great and generous people willing to help you throughout the process. Don't be afraid to ask questions. I have been frequently overwhelmed by the responses I get, and the camaraderie here is rare these days! A friendly and cooperative space on the internet -- who knew?

Thanks for the introduction, and I wish you the best of luck as you get your plan together!

    Regards,

    Steve

Welcome Aboard & Make Sure You Check Out Edwardb's (Sir Paul) Gen-3 Coupe Build Thread!

Paul is an Award Winning Master Hobbyist Builder who really documented the heck out of each of his builds... All of his build threads, including his Type-65 Coupe, really supplement the Factory-5 assembly manuals so check them out... In addition, any advice he gives you will based on fact and real world personal knowledge.

Good Luck & Watch Your Pinkies!

Welcome! With that garage you’re off to a great start! I’m up the road in SC and I put a mini-split in my garage, made a world of difference.
