installing solid motor mounts in factory five mark 2

My pipes were bouncing way to much, so after 20,000 miles, I *finally* decided to swap out my rubber motor mounts for solid mounts.

I expected it to be a pain, and I was not disappointed.

I made a video of the process and the lessons we learned!!

The heated garage, donuts and coffee made it all great.

    Thanks Phil for helping out!!

Make sure you keep a flexible trans mount. Unless you want a cracked bell housing or trans case. Ask me how I know, LOL.

I'd bet that Energy Suspension has mounts that would better control the movement while still offering some vibration isolation. I believe that it is an Energy mount that is included as the trans mount.
It's also possible that your current mounts are just worn out and a direct replacement would solve most of the problem.

    Nice video, thanks for sharing.

I am also running fixed mounts from Gordon Levy. So far after 2200 miles and a track day they have been great. Zero vibrations in the car. I do have the flexible energy mounts on the transmission. Gordon told me he has been selling these for years with no issues, I definitely trust his word seeing as he builds these cars for a living along with racing them.

How did it help with your side pipe movement?
