Delayed parts - tips for alternate build sequence

Seems like a lot of of folks are dealing with delayed parts, either from F5 or other suppliers. I'm a bit neurotic to begin with so I tend to get a little nervous whenever I'm forced to go "off-script." A lot of us (like me!) are newbies, which probably doesn't help the anxiety levels .

Any suggestions on how far you can take certain parts of the build, without painting yourself into a corner further on?

I'm missing the front lower control arms, the Wilwood pedal box, wheels, and I think one 6 ft (?) run of fuel line, plus some little odds and ends. I've built the IRS and installed the center section, mounted the spindles and hubs, and now I'm working on assembling the rear Wilwood brakes. I'm guessing there is nothing I can start with the front suspension until I get the lower arms. Any recommendations on what I can safely start next on the chassis?

Fuel line you can buy at an auto parts store. You can work on everything from the firewall back. Look at some other build threads to see what you can skip to. Here is 3 of mine.

As Tom said the fuel line is a parts store item. As for the front suspension you can do a lot ahead of the lower arms: assemble the upper arms into the proper configuration, put in the ball joints and install them onto the chassis. Put in the steering rack and tie rods and assemble the spindles. Assemble the coilovers (check the rebound setting beforehand). Once your lowers come in you'll be ready to install them then bolt on the coilovers, spindles and tie rods.

Fit and drill all the aluminum. You can cleco it in place with just a few in each panel.

I got a set clecos for the first time and used on the F-panels. Very, very handy.

Seconded with the panels. If you are planning to modify the trunk tins you can start on that too - you can always pull it all out if you need access (and will need to anyways when you put down the silicone).

Another project I started on early (I, too was missing my front suspension parts) was the dashboard. I'm not sure if you are doing a blank dash or the pre-cut. But since I was doing a blank dash I started laying things out, installing Russ Thompson turn signal kit, etc. That can all be done without the footbox in place.
