Body Fitting | Firewall Tirmming?

All,
We got the body all square, but the body resting solely on the firewall.

If I trim the firewall 1/4 of inch it will rest on the tubular bar the dash mounts to.

-Do you typically trim the firewall?

-Do you want the body resting on the tubular bar the dashboard attaches to?

Body should rest on the bulb seal on the firewall and float above the 3/4"side frame rails. It should also be floating above the dash hoop.

Direct answer -- NO, don't trim the firewall. The body should sit firmly on the bulb seal on the firewall. Trim/lower it there and it will cascade to various fitment problems. In case you haven't noticed, the dash hoop is often not even symmetrical. The body doesn't sit on it as already stated.
