All,
Any options for power brake booster setup for the MK4 Roadster other than Whitby's?
Thanks,
Matt

hydroboost would be the choice - Forte sells a setup

granted you need hydraulic pump, like power steering to run it
All I did was get a fox body booster and Mike Everson’s spacer. I had to cut the 3/4” square tube for clearance. I bridged the part I cut out, ran a vacuum line to the intake manifold...done!

FFR 5136 Started as a donor...donor guages, engine, trans,etc. Now...TFS street intake,stage 1 cam, GT40p's,24# injectors and 80mm MAF,70mm TB,Z-spec t-5, and PSE Halibrand wrapped with Nitto 555 G2’s. My ever evolving dream car!!

I used it, works great. And while I was at it, since I needed a power steering pump to power it, I added power steering.
This is my second MK-IV, first was manual brakes and Armstrong power steering. Adding both of these to my latest Roadster made a huge difference. Go for it!
I used a booster for the 87 to 93 Mustang and a master cylinder for a 95 GT. I think that is the same booster provided by Whitby. The master cylinder is significantly different. Here are some pictures of my setup. The first picture of the master cylinder is from before the power brake mod. It is shows the difference from Whitby supplied one better than the ones I have from have from after. You will need to do the pet food bowl mod of the splash panel as recommended by Jeff Kleiner if you use this master.

I'd have to look through Padawan's prior threads but I think he is using the Wilwood pedal box. Not sure he could use a stock Mustang hydroboost and/or vacuum booster. I think the system he has from Whitby may be specifically designed for use with the Wilwood pedal box.
Norm. What did you use for fittings to offset your reservoir like that?
Mike
Mike, I took the reservoir to the hardware store and found two 90 degree double female reducing elbows that would thread tightly over the plastic nipples on the reservoir. I believe they are 1/2 to 3/8 npt but, I would make sure by taking the reservoir to the store. In addition I bought two 3/8 npt to barb fittings. I made the bracket in the picture then mounted the reservoir to it with the elbows. I put a bead of “The Right Stuff” sealant at the base of the reservoir fittings before screwing the elbows down tight. A couple of short pieces of remote brake reservoir hose completed the connection to the master cylinder.
The province we plan on retiring in requires a low brake fluid warning system as part of the automotive engineers inspection to register. I used the supplied red light as a dual purpose park brake on and brake fluid warning.
Away from home for work until tomorrow. Let me know if you want pictures of the fittings.

before anybody goes though the trouble of doing a power brake conversion. i encourage them to switch to a better/more grippy brake pad. it makes a big difference without adding parts/complexity. Hawk HPS pads are great on the street. front pads for roadsters with the mustang caliper should be Hawk HB274F.610
