    Throttle Cable | Cable Management

    All,
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to tie the Throttle Cable into the Valve Cover Bolts? P-Clamps?

I would like to use something nice to hold the throttle cable in place along the valve covers?

    Love to hear your ideas/solutions...

    Thanks

I used a couple of 3" bolts with the same thread as my valve cover bolts along with a couple of un-threaded stainless steel spacers and cushion clamps.

Before you attach it move it up as far as you can. That is way too close to the headers which will melt the plastic liner of the cable SS sleeve and jam the throttle. Mine jammed at 1/2 throttle so I got off the autocross course using the ignition switch. Also my experience w/ that cable (Lokar?) is that even w/o sticking it is a rough operator. I much prefer their plain black one. And a Forte mechanical linkage is better than either.

I made an aluminum plate that mounts to the intake. Same principle as what johnnybgoode has with less sparkle and cost. It's served well for 19 years through 3 different engines. It has also been used to mount wire guides to manage other connections through the engine bay.

Here's how I routed mine to best avoid the heat. First picture is the easiest to see the P clamp on the inside of top edge of the drivers' foot box. This was before power brake and Sniper upgrades. The second picture is after those upgrades with the associated wiring and vacuum line co-located.
