I’m in conversation with a seller who doesn’t have the paperwork verifying the kit is indeed an MK3 from FFR. What is my best option to verify? Does there happen to be a stamp somewhere on the body or frame? Thank you in advance!

What are you purchasing? Complete car or parts? Look for a number on the 2" tube to the left of the steering column about where your knee would be when sitting in the driver seat.
If it does not have a title and the seller has no paperwork , walk away. The manuf. generated a MSO that has the purchaser name on it that goes to DMV. Being a second owner will make titling it difficult!

A quick look under the hood will tell you. If the steering shaft exits the sidewall of the driver’s foot box and runs forward to an intermediate pillow block bearing mounted on the chassis and then to the steering rack it is a Mk2 or earlier. If the shaft exits through the front wall of the driver’s foot box below the master cylinder and runs directly to the rack it’s a Mk3 or later.
