Hi everybody
I have dilemma should I use 6mm foam under the carpet. Give me advice is it good idea or useless. And if yes where... everywhere or in some places (floor). Have you some pictures of your works with carpeting?

The carpet kit from FFR looks good and fits great, as is. I think padding will alter the fit. I can’t see any benefit to adding it. I’d go with the stock carpet.

I've never used an actual carpet padding foam. But have always used insulation between the carpet and the aluminum panels. I would recommend something that has heat and sound insulation properties rather than foam. I've mainly used the Lizard Skin spray-on products. But there are lots of other options including stick-on like Dynamat, FatMat, Noico, Kilmat, etc. Bunch of choices.

Used Reflectix aluminum sandwich with heavy gauge polyethylene bubble sheet. Its 5/16th thick attic insulation from Home Depot. Glued in with 3M90. Entire cockpit including foot wells & transmission tunnel. Provides a heat barrier & eliminates any tinny sound from the light gauge floor.
No issues with the FF5 stock carpet set. Did not insulate the trunk as the rear cockpit bulkhead was done.

I love the smell of 100 octane in the morning.

I would not use foam on a car without a roof that sooner or later will get caught in the rain. That stuff can turn into a moldy mess.
What you do want is heat insulation.
