    T5 with S10 Tail - Mounting

    I'm in the process of ordering a T5 w/ S10 Tail Housing...

Will I still be able to use the standard Roadster 28 Spline 8.375" Driveshaft?

Is it as simple as switching out the tail housing and from there its plug and play?

Do I need to give the transmission builder any special instructions?

    - Power Steering
    - Power Brakes

I believe it depends on what output shaft the trans builder uses. I used an S10 shaft and had to switch the driveshaft yoke. So that would be a question for the builder. The length is the same. You will also need a shifter that fits a GM T5 as the base plate is different on on the S10 Tranny.

I used the mustang output shaft, just swapped the housing. I believe the shift rail also needs to be changed to s10

There is something inside that needs to be clearanced, I vaguely remember using a die-grinder to remove some aluminum. I also cut the shark-fin off of the bottom of the housing and fabricated a new mount. The speedo drive has to be modified also (but I use a GPS-driven electronic version of the Autometer guages so the drivetrain really doesn’t matter). It’s not completely plug-n-play but, IMHO, it’s a fantastic mod!

Swapped mine easy with no issues. Straight swap. Cut a nub off the bottom that hangs down below the rails. You'll need a chevy shifter. The mustang shifter does not bolt in. I do not need the speedo gear or electronic speedo pickup because I'm using a GPS speedo. Same drive shaft. The top cover that holds the forks from the C10 has a shorter shaft and uses the same forks. Easy swap.
