Power steering - one last question before putting in my order!
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and FFR community. I'm excited to be here and can't wait to get my build started. This forum is such an amazing resource. I have learned A LOT and seeing the build threads has been inspiring and exciting.
Some context: planning a FFR complete kit with coyote 5.0 power plant. Vast majority of my driving will be street, but I am hoping to get in a couple track days a year.
I am a little confused about the power steering options... I've read as much as I can on the forums about it, but much of what I am seeing is 4-5 years old. In the configuration of the complete kit, FFR offers the Coyote 5.0 power steering kit for $1050 OR a power steering kit for $299 that requires pump & bracket. I am seeing the Breeze kit as a popular option, but I am not sure how this fits into the picture... is it a replacement for the FFR kit? If I go Breeze, do I need to select the $299 power steering option?
This is the last question I have before I put in the deposit on my kit... Any guidance would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance, excited to be here!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your upcoming kit order. You're in for an exciting adventure. I'm a huge fan of power steering. Have had both manual and power and won't go without. For the Coyote, Factory Five switched to the KRC setup (this: https://www.krcpower.com/ecommerce/pn-kit-66302125.asp) a couple years ago. It's a very high quality aftermarket pump and a mounting setup specifically for the Coyote that also saves the A/C compressor location in case the build includes A/C. It's very high quality and not cheap as you found. Previously they sold a Ford mod motor pump that mounted on a bracket in the A/C compressor area and also had a separate reservoir. So be careful of the vintage posts you're looking at. They may still reference the non-KRC setup.
The #16473 Coyote power steering option includes everything including the KRC stuff, rack, and hoses. You don't need anything else. Although fair warning, some have found the OEM style hoses less than desirable and replaced with SS flex. Breeze is a good source for the parts required. The Factory Five #16799 option is for a power steering rack only, which you wouldn't need since it's included with the Coyote power steering option. You also don't need a pump and bracket from Breeze. I'm not aware he sells a pump and bracket that's compatible with the Coyote anyway.
Highly recommend you place your order over the phone versus submitting an on-line order. The guys will take the time to explain options and considerations (like this one) at that time. But also don't feel like your order is frozen when you initially place the order, pay the deposit, and get a confirmed production date. You can make changes to your order pretty much up to that point. Happens all the time. You'll get a message to do a final review of your order before paying the remaining balance.

Just a comment. There is also an electric power steering option that you can add later - that's what I did with my build. Love it. But I've been told it won't fit if you have a Coyote engine, so that option may not be available to you. But - definitely get power steering!!

Thanks guys, I put the order in today! Opted to go with the FFR PS kit. Appreciate the perspective. More to come soon as I get the build going...

swwebb, noticed you're from Sandia Park. Small world, I grew up in Albuquerque. Just came back from visiting family in NM a few days ago. Live in California now though...

Yup. Moved to Albuquerque in 1984 - then to Sandia Park in 2007. Love it up here in the mountains.
