Question paint colors - are there good threads with pics just about color AND stripe choices?

obviously if I search for paint colors, a bazillion posts come up

I'm looking for a certain paint color that I'm considering...

since I have a 25th Anniv. car coming next week, my initial thoughts are to use a metallic black (I hate plain black) with bronze stripes to match the wheels...

    here's my poor-man's attempt at a photoshop
    ff-25th-anniversary-car.png

I've seen some good options for metal-flake black...

unsure of this color, but it's a Superformance car at our local cars and coffee...

previously my wife had a 2011 Special Edition MX-5 Miata with Sparkling Black Mica - color shifting Mazda-M35 color

Ken Pike also recommended a newer Dodge color... Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl-Coat

I've asked FFR as to what color code is on the new starburst wheels, but they couldn't find a color code...

anyone have a similar color car?

If you're looking for a pretty metallic black, I saw a newer Ford Explorer recently that was what I believe to be Ford's Tuxedo Black Metallic. It was a stunning color.

While looking for bronze stripes on Cobras, I came across an interesting combo for you 25th Anniversary owners:

A color match to the wheels for the stripe on a body something along these lines.

On my car I used a metallic grey with fine metallic and a lot of pearl. The result is a color that is grey and turns silver where the sun hits it. The stripes are non metallic viper red. Here is the truth if you can handle it....I don't care what they call it. When you put anything in "black" it's not "Black" anymore. Just stirring the pot cause I haven't poured my second beverage yet...da Bat

I totally agree. I have a newer Edge in tuxedo black and I can say it’s a black base with every color of flake in it you can imagine, and it is not a true black. Personally and a bunch of others I’m sure will agree. If you want to show off your body working and painting skills go black, it shows everything. True body guys can appreciate a good job in black as it beautiful if done right and they know a high end job in black is much harder to do as it hides nothing. Great for show car, just a pita for a daily driver.

I’ve been taking screenshots of Cobras on Instagram for months. I’ve also been looking at cars in parking lots, trying to find different color combos...
Still don’t know what color I’m gonna do. Although starting to narrow it down.

    Toad,
I put Ford Tuxedo Black stripes (Code UH) on one I painted a few years ago. Photos are never very good at capturing all of the pearls and metallic but here are a couple.

    Cheers,
    Jeff

One of things I really like about Backdraft is how they explore non traditional paint schemes. I’ve pulled a lot of ideas out of their stuff.

A couple of things I learned besides make sure the wife is happy with the color.

Women are better at seeing colors than men as they have more cones in their eyes.

Light colors make things look bigger. Dark colors make things look smaller. A Cobra is already a small car...
